Are you constantly worried about the safety of the valuables that you have at home? Well, you are not the only one. Everyone is bothered about the safety of their home valuables and therefore it is important to know how to keep them safe. Thieves usually target houses that do not have many safety features.

Lock up your house. This is quite obvious, but it is important that you check the back windows and garage properly before locking up. Your windows should not only be closed, they should be locked as well. Using dead bolts for the doors is necessary. Any door leading up to your garage must be locked as well.

It’s essential to post alarm signs to keep your home valuables safe. Placing small unobtrusive signs by security companies on your yards is a good idea. These signs are really efficient even if they are just decoys. You can also install motion lights outside your house.

    Sanding your Fence

Posted In: Home Security by carbonfreehomes

Keeping your fence in prime condition definitely adds to the overall appearance of your home. A wooden fence although prettiest to look at needs the most amounts of care and maintenance. To keep your wooden fence looking its best you must apply either a coat of paint, stain or varnish to increase its longevity.

Using a handheld orbital sander, start by sanding the flat boards of the fence to remove existing layers of paint, stain or other damages. Fill any depressions on the wood surface with recommended fillers. Sand once again to get a smooth finish. Sand the edges, tips and crevices with a sand block or paper as the handheld sanding machine cannot work in these areas.

Apply a primer and allow drying over a significant period of time. Paint the boards or stain them for a natural look and you have a brand new fence around your garden.
